Colleen Simmons, M.A., R.N.
As Practice Nurse Manager of the Vascular Center, Colleen Simmons provides support to all clinic affiliated physicians, nursing staff, clinical operations, clerical support staff, and academic support personnel. Colleen's primary focus is on promoting excellent customer service, and ensuring that our patients experience only the best in staff interactions, efficient utilization of time, and are provided with exemplary care and education surrounding each visit.
As manager, Colleen initiates, implements and evaluates new programs and works closely with marketing, research, performance improvement, nursing and medical staff to ensure that optimal resources are available for patients. Colleen oversees both the daily clinical, fiscal, and operational performance of the Vascular Center Clinic.
A Registered Nurse since 1983, Colleen began her nursing career with UC Davis Medical Center in 1991 and has experience in a variety of inpatient and ancillary patient care units. Upon earning a Masters degree in 1997, Colleen worked as a Clinical Nurse Educator where she developed various educational programs, coordinated staff educational needs assessment, and implemented annual training schedules. In that role, Colleen served as the liaison between the University and the Board of Registered Nurses in ensuring accreditation criteria for continuing education programs.
