Ralph W. deVere White
Dr. deVere White’s individual research is in the area of prostate and bladder cancer, for which he has received continual NCI funding since 1985. His primary focus has been on p53 and miRNA studies in prostate cancer. He is presently PI of three separate nationally funded grants: Two grants are supported through the Department of Defense: one studying miRNA in the development and progression of prostate cancer and the other determining functional validation of Relaxin as a potential biomarker for prostate cancer. His third funded grant is with the National Cancer Institute and also studies miRNA. However, this grant focuses on the characterization of miRNA targets and their regulation in prostate cancer. His bladder research is focused on the use of miRNAs and their potential role in determining chemosensitivity in individual bladder cancer patients.
