William H. Hoch, M.D.

Philosophy of CareSince finishing my education, I have dedicated my professional life to caring for the urologic needs of my patients and helping to educate physicians in general and urologists in particular. It is my sincere desire to continue to serve the public in this manner, administering to patient needs in an honest, sensitive, competent fashion, balancing these needs with economics, but with an emphasis on responding to human need. I have always empowered my patients to take control of their bodies and emphasized educating them, so that they feel comfortable deciding their urologic fates. Additionally, I feel it is necessary for all physicians responsible for responding to urologic problems to be sufficiently skilled to lead their patients to the simplest, most effective therapy. This requires them to have an adequate understanding of urologic principles and treatment modalities. Such an education becomes my responsibility, if they have yet to achieve appropriate levels of competence. Only with such cooperation between primary and specialty care can we expect to accomplish excellence in attending to human illness. |
