Recognizing
the Obvious Signs of Clinical Depression,
part of the Learn at Lunch lecture series sponsored by the
Academic & Staff Assistance Program, La Bou restaurant, room
1109. One of the most common illnesses, clinical depression
is not the sadness that everyone feels from time to time,
nor is it the normal period of mourning or bereavement after
the death of a loved one or a divorce. Marjorie Trogdon, a
licensed clinical social worker with ASAP, will discuss the
warning signs of depression, different treatments and how

Proceeds
from sales at Bistro Biagio and Java Jungle, located inside
Camellia Inn & Suites, will be donated to the UC
Davis Childrens Hospital. The contribution
is part of an arrangement in which the restaurants will contribute,
on the third Thursday of each month, an entire day's receipts
to support research at UC Davis Medical Center.
Proceeds from breakfast, lunch and dinner will be donated.
Here are the hours when the three meals are served:
- Breakfast:
6-11 a.m.
- Lunch: 11 a.m.
to 2:30 p.m.
- Dinner: 5-10
p.m.

20th annual American Medical Students
Association Wine Tasting Benefit,
Davis Art
Center, 1919 F St., Davis. Proceeds will support three clinics
operated by students from the UC Davis School of Medicine.
The Wine Tasting Benefit will feature the wines of at least
10 regional wineries, as well as food provided by The New
Nugget in Davis. The event also will feature music performed
by UC Davis medical school students and art created by the
students. For the general public, tickets cost $15 each in
advance or $20 at the door. For students, the cost is $15,
both in advance and at the door. Advance tickets may be reserved

M. Mott Memorial Lecture will be delivered by Fred
K. Morrison, a state appeals court judge with wide experience
in the area of medicine and the law, in the Cancer Center
