Friday, Nov. 16, 8 p.m. to midnight
20th annual American Medical Students Association Wine Tasting Benefit,
Davis Art Center, 1919 F St., Davis. Proceeds will support three clinics operated by students from the UC Davis School of Medicine. The Wine Tasting Benefit will feature the wines of at least 10 regional wineries, as well as food provided by The New Nugget in Davis. The event also will feature music performed by UC Davis medical school students and art created by the students. For the general public, tickets cost $15 each in advance or $20 at the door. For students, the cost is $15, both in advance and at the door. Advance tickets may be reserved by sending an e-mail to tamho@ucdavis.edu or by calling (530) 754-3379.

Food, Mood and Gratitude: Tips for Thriving in the Midst of Holiday Eating,” part of the “Coming of Age” lecture series sponsored by the UC Davis Center for Healthy Aging, UC Davis Cancer Center auditorium, 4501 X St., Sacramento. Would you like to escape the stress and discomfort of holiday overfeasting and weight gain? Tips are provided for balancing the joy of holiday eating while maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The annual John M. Mott Memorial Lecture will be delivered by Fred K. Morrison, a state appeals court judge with wide experience in the area of medicine and the law, in the Cancer Center Auditorium 4501 X St., Sacramento.
