Gill
joins Department of Psychiatry
Harpreet Mona
Gill will join the UC Davis Department of Psychiatry as an
assistant professor on July 1.
Gill received
her medical degree from Loyola-Stritch School of Medicine
in Chicago in 1995. She completed her residency and fellowship
training at UC Davis Medical Center, where she served as chief
resident and received the Outstanding Resident Award in 1999.
Gill has clinical
interests in consultation-liaison psychiatry and enjoys consulting
with primary care physicians regarding patient care and treatment
of mental illness. Her other interests include training medical
students and residents and working with patients with substance
abuse problems. Gill's research concentrates on substance
abuse (especially ethnic addictions and treatment), women's
issues as related to psychiatric disorders, the interface
of medical and psychiatric issues, and neuropsychiatric disorders.
She is involved in promoting increased awareness of the psychiatric
field among medical students. She is a member of the American
Medical Association, American Psychiatric Association, and
Academy of Psychosomatic Medicine.
