part of the "Coming of Age" lecture series sponsored by the
UC Davis Center for Aging and Health, UC Davis Cancer Center
auditorium, 4501 X Street, Sacramento. The potential for genetic
manipulation to alter the human condition is staggering in
its consequences for good and harm. A moral-ethical imperative
must be developed for this accelerating science. The framework
of this ethical construct has been termed "genethics." Cloning,
privacy, therapy and "improvements to the species" are all
at issue. The speaker is Faith T. Fitzgerald, UC Davis professor

eating less fat. An interactive discussion about the value
of plant-based diets, phytochemicals and nutritional supplements.
Learn to distinguish between health approaches to nutrition
and media hype. The speaker is Christopher P. Gardner, an
assistant professor in the UC Davis School of Medicine's Center
for Advanced Studies in Nutrition and Social Marketing. For
