"Genethics," part of the "Coming of Age" lecture series sponsored by the UC Davis Center for Aging and Health, UC Davis Cancer Center auditorium, 4501 X Street, Sacramento. The potential for genetic manipulation to alter the human condition is staggering in its consequences for good and harm. A moral-ethical imperative must be developed for this accelerating science. The framework of this ethical construct has been termed "genethics." Cloning, privacy, therapy and "improvements to the species" are all at issue. The speaker is Faith T. "Nutrition: Health vs. Hype," part of the "Coming of Age" lecture series sponsored by the UC Davis Center for Aging and Health, Sierra Health Foundation, 1321 Garden Highway, Sacramento. There is much more to good nutrition than just eating less fat. An interactive discussion about the value of plant-based diets, phytochemicals and nutritional supplements. Learn to distinguish between health approaches to nutrition and media hype. The speaker is Christopher P.
