Dominguez
joins Division of Pain Medicine
as assistant professor
Carmen L. Dominguez
has joined the Division of Pain Medicine as an assistant professor
of anesthesiology.
Dominguez has
both clinical and research interests in pain medicine, pediatric
pain and acupuncture. She earned a bachelor's degree in biology
and an M.D. from Columbia University in 1988 and 1992, respectively.
Dominguez completed a pain management fellowship at Massachusetts
General Hospital in Boston in 1997 and is a certified medical
acupuncturist.
In 1998, Domniguez
was certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology and
has a subspeciality certification in pain management, earned
in 2000. She served as assistant director of the Pain Management
Center at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York
from 1998-2001 before coming to UC Davis.
Currently, Dominguez
divides her time between seeing patients at the pain clinic
and assisting in the operating room. She is a member of the
American Society of Anesthesiologists, International Anesthesia
Research Society, American Medical Women's Association, International
Association for the Study of Pain, and International Spinal
Injection Society.
