Interpreting services stretches its
resources through videoconferencing

The ethnic diversity that contributes to a rich and colorful culture in Sacramento also presents demanding challenges to UC Davis Medical Center, but a high-technology tool is showing great promise in serving a patient population that speaks as many 18 languages.

In a pilot program launched about three weeks ago, the Center for Health and Technology and Medical Interpreting Services teamed up to provide interpreting by videoconferencing in the Family Practice Clinic and the General Pediatrics Clinic.
