Annual testing to interrupt phone service August 26

Normal telephone service at UC Davis Medical Center will be unavailable on Saturday, August 26, between 4 and 6 a.m. due to the annual testing of the emergency telephone back-up system.

During the test period, the hospital will rely solely on the emergency back-up system. The testing will affect any station using the (703) prefix or the (734) prefix.

All telephone numbers that have been sent to specific destinations during the outage will continue to be handled in the same manner as in previous years. If the Telecommunications Department has not specifically addressed the number during an outage, then the call will be sent to the operators for assistance. All elevator, emergency and “red” telephones will be operational during the outages.
