“Black Belt Extravaganza” benefits Kiwanis Family House

The Kiwanis Family House will be the beneficiary of the 18th Annual Black Belt Extravaganza, set for Sunday, September 17, at 3 p.m. at the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium, 16th and J streets.

The event is sponsored by Kovar’s Satori Academy of Martial Arts. Among the activities to be demonstrated at the event are weapons, board-breaking, extreme martial arts, kenpo, kickboxing, tae kwon do and Brazilian jiu jitsu.

The Kiwanis Family House is dedicated to providing support to families of seriously ill or injured children and other patients being treated at the UC Davis Medical Center. Guests have immediate access to their child’s bedside, free shuttle service to the hospital, and a staff of caring volunteers available 24 hours-a-day, seven days-a-week.
