Police to focus on failures to stop at 48th and T streets
The city of Sacramento’s Police Department will aggressively issue citations for failures to obey the stop signs at the intersection of T and 48th streets in response to complaints that UC Davis Health System employees are running the stop sign.
Loanna Hernandez, a traffic investigator in the city’s Traffic Engineering Division, said that several area residents have reported that health system employees driving on T and 48th streets do not come to a full stop. After receiving the complaints, Hernandez monitored the site and observed several health system staff members failing to stop at the intersection.
As a result, a special team of Sacramento police officers will be assigned to the intersection next week and conduct “heavy enforcement” of failures to obey the stop sign. The city has not set an end date for the beefed-up enforcement period.
The fine for running a stop sign is $161. |
