Rose receives teaching award from American College of Emergency Physicians

John Rose, an associate professor in the UC Davis Department of Emergency Medicine, has received the 2006 American College of Emergency Physicians National Emergency Medicine Faculty Teaching Award.

The American College of Emergency Physicians sponsors the award to honor outstanding educators in emergency medicine. The award is intended to support emergency medicine faculty in their efforts to achieve academic advancement as well as support the continued academic development of the specialty.

The award recognizes superior teaching activities, including didactic lectures, clinical instruction, the development of innovative educational programs, and the endorsement of faculty, residents and students.

Rose is the associate residency program director for the emergency department and teaches the popular “doctoring” course for UC Davis medical students. His research interests include emergency department ultrasound, asthma, systemic sedation and analgesia.

Rose will be recognized during the American College of Emergency Physicians’ annual Scientific Assembly meeting, and by publication in “ACEP News” and other publications of the college.
