Employees reminded to be considerate of neighbors
Employees of UC Davis Medical Center are being urged to practice considerate, respectful behavior toward residents of the neighborhoods surrounding the medical center.
In response to concerns expressed by the Elmhurst Neighborhood Task Force, the Office of Government and Community Relations is reminding employees to be mindful of their effect on neighbors when driving through, walking, parking or otherwise gathering in the residential areas around the medical center.
One of the most helpful steps employees can take to maintain good relationships with community members is to park in employee parking lots, not on residential streets. Parking on neighborhood streets makes it difficult for residents to get in and out of their driveways or even to find parking at all. Parking on most streets is restricted to vehicles with residential permits.
Government and Community Relations also has received complaints from neighbors about employees who play their vehicle stereos loudly, talk loudly while congregating at an employee's car during breaks, littering, driving faster than the speed limit, running stop signs, and trampling on lawns and flower beds. |
