New look for health system and staff Web sites

The UC Davis Health System's Internet (public) Web site (http://www.ucdmc.ucdavis.edu/) has a new look. The redesigned site meets the goals of better alignment with the UC Davis campus identity and better highlighting of current health system research and news. The new design also addresses usability issues that had been identified with the previous site design. All of the health system's departmental sites will be taking on the new color scheme by July 1.

The health system's new staff (intranet) site — scheduled to launch July 1 on the current staff page located at http://staff.ucdmc.ucdavis.edu/ — will provide daily news and event updates while offering employees more information about the health system's mission and vision. Because the new site will be updated daily, Weekly Update's Web site and listserv e-mails will cease after the new site is launched.

New features of the staff site include:

A special section for Vice Chancellor and Dean Claire Pomeroy, who will offer health system updates;

"Ask the Vice Chancellor," which will enable employees to ask Dr. Pomeroy questions about the health system. To submit a question, send an e-mail via the staff Web site at staff@ucdmc.ucdavis.edu. An anonymous online submission form will be available soon after the site is launched.

Updates on fund-raising efforts;

A staff profile area that will highlight employees who contribute to the health system's research, patient care, education and community engagement missions.

Employees who frequently use the existing staff page to view clinical, educational, computer, administrative and employee health resources will still be able to access those pages from the new site.
