UC Davis Cancer Center gala to raise funds for education, outreach
UC Davis Cancer Center 's annual Celebration Gala, a black-tie dinner and dance, will take place on Saturday, August 26, at the Hyatt Regency Sacramento, 1209 L St. Cocktails and a silent auction will get under way at 6 p.m. Dinner and dancing to the music of Hip Service will follow at 8 p.m. For ticket and sponsorship information, please call (916) 418-1660 or visit the Web at http://www.ucdmc.ucdavis.edu/cancer/celebration.
All proceeds will benefit the UC Davis Cancer Center's Outreach Research and Education Program, which offers art therapy, tai chi, “writing as healing,” new-patient orientations, and other programs for the 9,000 children and adults who come to the region's only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center for treatment each year. Free noon lectures, quarterly education forums, and a cancer resource center for patients and the general public are also coordinated by the program. In addition, program faculty and staff, in a partnership with California State University, Sacramento, develop and test innovative approaches to improve the health of underserved communities and reduce disparities in cancer awareness, incidence and mortality throughout the Sacramento region.
The UC Davis Cancer Center's Celebration Gala is sponsored by The Regent Foundation, a charitable arm of Regent Development, a Sacramento-based real estate development firm. The event is underwritten by Comcast.
Tickets for the evening are $350 per person. Sponsorships begin at $3,500 and include seating for 10, a table marquee, recognition signage at the event and a listing in the event program. |
