Medical center library head receives Award for Excellence

Terri Malmgren, head librarian of the UC Davis Medicial Center Library, is the 2006 recipient of the Northern California and Nevada Medical Library Group (NCNMLG) Award for Professional Excellence. The award was presented on May 2 at the group's annual dinner.

Malmgren, who has been head librarian at the medical center library since 1979, has been an active and contributing member of NCNMLG for over 25 years, serving as the group's president as well as chair of numerous important committees. Currently, she is the group's representative to the Medical Library Association. In addition, she has maintained certification as a Distinguished Member of the Academy of Health Information Professionals since 1990. At UC Davis, Malmgren has been active in the Librarians' Association of UC Davis, serving as president and as chair or member of several committees.
