TGFS/Diversity Appreciation luncheon set for May 24

Free tickets will again be available for employees to attend the annual Thank Goodness for Staff (TGFS) and Diversity Appreciation Day luncheon set for Wednesday, May 24, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Managers and supervisors should order the number of tickets their department or division will need for employees expected to attend the luncheon no later than Wednesday, May 3. The requests should be sent to Steve Gutierrez, Human Resources, at (916) 734-5335.

Managers and supervisors should designate a contact person to receive the tickets for distribution. In addition, please indicate the number of employees who will be on "off-shift" assignments during the luncheon who will receive redeemable cafeteria coupons.

The TGFS Planning Committee also is seeking employees to serve as volunteers to collect tickets and serve lunches. Because the day is intended to honor staff and celebrate diversity, the volunteers should be from the management/supervisor level. Volunteer request sheets must be submitted no later than Wednesday, May 17, to Marbella Sala, Center for Reducing Health Disparities, CRISP Building, Suite 1400, (916) 703-9115 or (916) 703-9116 (fax). Nominations are being accepted for the annual Ambassadors of Diversity Awards, intended to recognize employees who have made outstanding efforts beyond their normal job duties in the achievement and/or support of the diversity of UC Davis Health System's work force and the community. Completed nomination forms must be received by 5 p.m. Thursday, April 20. The forms may be sent by fax to (916) 734-7411 or by e-mail to tracie.barbour@ucdmc.ucdavis.edu. The awards will be presented at the annual Diversity Appreciation Breakfast.
