United Way campaign continues through March

This year's UC Davis campus and UC Davis Health System United Way Campaign runs March 20-30

In past years, UC Davis has partnered with United Way California Capital Region to address the community's most critical needs. United Way invests in results-oriented programs and services focusing on education, health, safety and self-sufficiency in Amador, El Dorado, Placer, Sacramento, and Yolo counties. About 86.5 cents of every dollar goes directly to community agencies, many of which could not afford to raise funds without United Way's assistance. This year, United Way’s combined efforts are expanding to include over 80 environmental charities through Earth Share of California.

United Way also allows employees to give their gift directly to many programs on the Davis campus and UC Davis Health System, including the M.I.N.D. Institute, the UC Davis Children's Hospital and the Cancer Center.

UC Davis is again using United eWay Online Pledging. The United eWay system is a secure, automated process that increases the efficiency and effectiveness of the campaign and dramatically reduces campaign costs. Donors will be able to designate their contribution directly at the eWay Web site through an easy self-registration process. The eWay site collects employee donations using a firewall and encryption-earning VeriSign Secure Site certification.

Beginning Monday, March 20, employees may visit https://donor.united-e-way.org and enter the following login information to get started:

• The campaign code is: ucd
• The username is: ucd
• The password is: ucd2006

Visitors will be taken to the UC Davis/UCDHS campaign page, where they can click on "Pledge Now" to start self-registration.
