Ethics in research topic of talk at ‘Responsible Conduct of Research’ program
Edward Gabriele, a leader in research integrity, discusses “The Spirit and Challenge of Research Ethics” at the keynote event of the Responsible Conduct of Research program on Friday, March 3, from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the AGR Room of the Walter A. Buehler Alumni & Visitors Center on the Davis campus.
Gabriele will describe the challenges of ideas for promoting excellence in research and scholarship, establishing a culture of the highest standard of integrity, and addressing bioethical issues surrounding stem-cell research.
Gabriele is a member of the faculty of the Society of Research Administrators International. He is director of the Office of Research Integrity for the MedStar Research Institute in Hyattsville, Md. In this role, he leads the policy, oversight, regulatory compliance administration, and ethics education for research involving the use of human subjects and tissues conducted under the MedStar Health System at various hospitals in the Baltimore and Washington, D.C., areas.
