Shriners parking on weekend for B permit holders

Due to continuing overcrowding in UC Davis Medical Center’s main parking garage that forces patients and visitors to use outlying lots, Parking and Transportation Services has 175 spaces available in the Shriners Hospital garage for employees with B parking permits.

B permit holders may use the Shriners garage starting at 6 p.m. on Friday, all day Saturday and Sunday, and must depart the garage by 3:00 a.m. Monday.

After 6 p.m. on Sunday, parking will return to the main parking garage at UC Davis Medical Center with the normal exit at 9 a.m. Monday.

Those interested in using the Shriners garage should bring their current B permits to the Parking Office, located at 4800 2nd Ave, Ste.1100, to obtain a “WE” subdecal and a Shriners access card. A low response to this parking option will result in week-end parking assignments based on UC Davis Health System Policy & Procedure 3378, Section 4.D, which prioritizes parking based on need priorities, putting patient and visitor parking first.

Those with access cards to the Shriners garage must follow these guidelines:

• week-day parking is prohibited in the Shriners garage. B permit holders should continue to park in the Medical Center’s “B” parking lots on week days.

• when parking in the Shriners garage, display your “B” permit in the lower left corner on the driver’s side of the windshield.
