Joseph Silva Symposium on Ion Channels set for Feb. 22
The Joseph Silva Symposium on Ion Channels will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 22, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the first-floor auditorium of the Genome Building on the UC Davis campus.
Here is the schedule for the symposium:
9 a.m. – “In Searching for the Gate of an Ion Channel: The Flourescent Light at the End of the Tunnel,” by Jie Zhang, assistant professor, physiology and membrane biology.
9:30 a.m. – “Encounters of the Fungal Kind: Targeting Calcium Channels for Antifungal Drug Development,” by Angela C. Gelli, assistant professor, pharmacology and toxicology.
10:15 a.m. – “Ion Channel Modules as a Means to Structure and Mechanism,” by Crina Nimigean, assistant professor, physiology and membrane biology.
10:45 a.m. – “The Voltage-gated K+ Channel Kv1.3 as a Target for the Treatment of Memory T Cell-mediated Autoimmune Diseases,” by Heike Wulff, assistant professor, medical pharmacology and toxicology.
