Congresswoman Doris Matsui, center, was welcomed by School of Medicine Dean Claire Pomeroy, right, on a tour of
the new Oak Park Research Building, the new home of the UC Davis Center for Biophotonics Science
and Technology, on Monday with members of her staff. Assisting with the tour was Marco Molinaro, left, chief education officer for the center. Matsui learned about research in biophotonics, its
application to science and medicine, and also met students from Center
High School involved in the center's Biophotonics Academy. The Oak Park Research Building also has space dedicated to cancer research, infectious disease, and the Center for Healthy Aging's research program.
