Traffic study leads to new crosswalks on Second Avenue

To enhance the safety of pedestrians, UC Davis Health System has installed three new crosswalks on Second Avenue as part of an agreement with the city of Sacramento.

The crosswalks are located at 45th Street, 48th Street and a spot midway between Research Building III and the Facilities Support Services Building. The crossings are painted across the street and include reflectors. Signs also mark their presence.

The health system financed the installation of the crosswalks after conducting a joint study of traffic volume on Second Avenue with the city of Sacramento.

Environmental Health and Safety urges employees to use the crosswalks to cross Second Avenue safely, and to avoid crossing the street outside of them.
