Long-term Care Topic of Caregiver Support Group Meeting

The process of arranging long-term care for a family member or loved one will be discussed at the next meeting of the Caregiver Support Group on Wednesday, Jan. 25, from noon to 1 p.m. at La Bou restaurant, room 1109.

Addressing the topic of “Path to Placement” will be guest speaker Nancy Shier-Anzelmo, a faculty member in the gerontology department at California State University, Sacramento. Schier-Anzelmo is a practicing gerontologist and the principal in the consulting firm Alzheimer’s Care Associates LLC, which provides training and technical assistance to the spectrum of long-term care providers. She strives to ensure that all environments – day care, assisted living, skilled nursing and home care – are person-centered and offer people with Alzheimer’s disease an opportunity to enjoy an enriched and satisfying life.
