The 11th annual Serotonin Surge charity golf tournament was held at the Teal Bend Golf Club on Sept. 17, raising a total of $45,000 for the UC Davis School of Medicine's network of student-run community clinics, Dr. Ernie Bodai's Cure Breast Cancer organization, and the Maggi Carlile Memorial Scholarship Fund. The $25,000 donation to the School of Medicine was made in honor of Bill McGowan who was recognized for steering the UC Davis ship on a path of community service and benevolence.
Tournament co-title sponsors were UC Davis Health System, Kaiser Permanente and Kaneski Associates. Other sponsors included Bio-Rad, American River HealthPro Credit Union, Ellis & Ellis, Harbison Mahony Higgins Builders, The Lescroart Corporation, Lucy Htain Regency Realty Services and the Niello Motor Company. Donations in kind were provided by Glenda Fox Photography, Mix It Up!, and the High Tech Institute.
