The UC Davis Clinical and Translational Science Center is part of a University of Washington project to develop a mechanism to allow researchers at three medical centers to easily access large shared data sets for designing research studies and generating hypotheses. The project is part of a National Institutes of Health effort to better connect scientists with one another, and with patients and communities across the nation. The team will develop model policies and procedures for creating a shared network of clinical research data, based on Informatics for Integrating Biology and the Bedside software, also known as "i2b2" architecture.
