More than 300 people attended Spring Break 2007, a food and wine event, to raise money for clinics in the greater Sacramento area that serve the medically uninsured and underinsured. Held at the California State University, Sacramento, Alumni Center on April 27, the event exceeded its fundraising goal of $100,000 for the third year in a row by raising $114,000.
Spring Break supports Clinica Tepati; CommuniCare Health Centers; CSERF's SPIRIT Project; Folsom Family Clinic; Imani Clinic; Joan Viteri Memorial Clinic; MAAP, Inc. – Sacramento Community Health Center; MercyClinic Loaves & Fishes; MercyClinic North Highlands; MercyClinic Norwood; Paul Hom Asian Clinic; Shifa Clinic; and the White Rock Family Clinic – all of which support physician volunteerism.
Title sponsors were UC Davis Health System and Kaiser Permanente. Mercy was a Gold Sponsor. Bronze Sponsors were American River HealthPro Credit Union, Kaneski Associates, Sutter Health and Wells Fargo. Benefactors were River City Bank and the Sierra Sacramento Valley Medical Society. The media sponsor was Sacramento Magazine.
Wineries that donated wine were Arger Martucci, Bogle Vineyards, Fiddlehead Cellars, Hazelmont Vineyards, Mevany Wines, Michael-David, Pedroncelli Winery, Seavey Vineyard, Senders Wines, Spoto Wines, St. Supery and Whitehall Lane Winery. Restaurant donors were Hannibal's Catering, Jealousy Catering, Marriott's Catering, Ma Jong's, Mason's at the Park Downtown, Mikuni, Randy Peters Catering, Tapa the World and Kashbah Lounge and Whole Foods Market.
Serendipity Boutique, Five Figs Couture and Patrick James provided fashion show clothing. Donated services included signage by Ellis & Ellis, flowers from East Lawn Florists, Web site by Smallbizwebsites. net and graphics by Bashore Designs.
Serotonin Surge Charities, which raises money for safety net clinics, Cure Breast Cancer and the Maggi Carlile Memorial Scholarship Fund produced the event.
