SCHOLARSHIPS
In 1988, the UC Davis School of Medicine Alumni Association Student Scholarship Fund was established, awarding $500 to a single recipient. On September 18, 2001, nearly $30,000 was awarded to seven deserving students! Your Alumni Association will also be recognizing exemplary residents on an annual basis beginning this year. These awards would be impossible without the continued support of our friends and alumni. The UC Davis School of Medicine, ranked among the top medical schools in the country, relies on philanthropy at all levels of giving to maintain its excellence. Your donation is an investment in the lives of future health professionals eager to make a contribution to society. Gabriel Katz, a 2001 scholarship recipient wrote to us, "Without such a gift it would be a lot harder for me to reach the goal that I put for myself, a goal of becoming a physician."
In 2001, the "Dean's Honor Roll of Donors" was established. For a pledge of $5,000 or more, a perpetual plaque recognizing the donor will be placed in Tupper Hall.
