A five-nurse team who speak Spanish, Hmong and Russian are helping patients with limited English navigate their way around UC Davis Medical Center in a new program to improve communication with patients and make care more accessible. The nurses help patients from the time of admissions through discharge. About 10 patients a day receive the nurses' help in explaining their care plan and doctors' instructions.
