UC Davis Medical Center again ranks among the top 50 hospitals in America in four specialties, according to the annual July survey by U.S. News & World Report. This year, UC Davis ranked 28th for ear, nose and throat, 29th for endocrinology, 37th for kidney disease, and 46th for gynecology.
Of the top 176 hospitals surveyed, UC Davis Medical Center had the highest nurse-to-patient ratio – 3.1 registered nurses per patient bed. Only four other hospitals on the entire list had coverage of 2.5 nurses per patient bed or higher. UC Davis also earned a perfect score in the U.S. News rankings for "key technology-related services," such as magnetic resonance imaging, bone marrow transplantation and interventional cardiac catheterization, which are important for diagnosis and quality treatment.
This marks the 14th year in a row that UC Davis Medical Center has been listed among "America's Best Hospitals."
