Event raises $45,000 for clinics, others
The 10th annual Serotonin Surge charity golf tournament raised $45,000 for the UC Davis School of Medicine's student-run community clinics, Dr. Ernie Bodai's Cure Breast Cancer organization and the Maggi Carlile Memorial Scholarship Fund.
The $25,000 donation to the School of Medicine was made in honor of Elizabeth Abad who was recognized for building a culture of philanthropy and collegiality at UC Davis and a meaningful collaboration between UC Davis and the region's other health systems in addressing safety net care.
Tournament co-title sponsors were UC Davis Health System, Kaiser Permanente, and Kaneski Associates. Additional sponsors included Bio-Rad, American River HealthPro Credit Union, Ellis & Ellis, Harbison Mahony Higgins Builders, Lucy Htain Regency Realty Services, and the Niello Motor Company. Donations in kind were provided by Glenda Fox Photography, Mix It Up! and the High Tech Institute.
