The call for UC Davis Interprofessional Teaching Scholars Program (ITSP) takes place in the spring of each year for the following academic year. Health professions faculty (Medicine, Nursing, and Veterinary Medicine) in all series and career levels are encouraged to apply.
“I joined ITSP because I wanted the tools and knowledge to be an excellent educator. ITSP provided me a diverse set of educational methods and new ideas that I have already utilized in my courses.”
- Michael Schick, D.O., M.A.
If selected, faculty must commit a minimum of 5 hours per week to the program, which includes the weekly 3-hour seminar. Faculty selected will be expected to develop and present a proposal for a scholarly project in education. They will then be expected to implement and complete that project over the following year. We will have brief quarterly meetings during that second year to provide continued mentoring and assistance in implementing the projects. Ideally, all of these projects will be submitted for presentation and/or publication.
The application includes a Nomination and Statement of Commitment from Academic Leader that must be completed by the faculty member's academic leader/department chair.
