UC Davis Medical Center's first solar panels featured on Parking Structure 3

When Parking Structure 3 (PS3) opened in the summer of 2012, it also marked the first time that UC Davis Medical Center generated its own solar power. The three photovoltaic arrays on the top level of PS3 can provide 145 kilowatts of electricity; in addition, these panels are raised up off the deck, so provide shade for those vehicles parked underneath. It’s anticipated that the solar panels will save over $800,000 in electricity costs over 20 years.
