David G. Greenhalgh

Clinical/Research Interests

David G. Greenhalgh is chief of staff at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Burn Center. He is interested in investigating new drugs, growth factors, wound sealants, and dressings to treat pediatric burn injuries. Author of three books, he also reviews for Surgery, Archives of Surgery, Journal of Trauma, and American Journal of Pathology. Greenhalgh's research includes a study of long-term treatment of severely burned children with recombinant human growth hormone. He also has examined the role of programmed cell death in wound healing, role of injury and hypoxia in early gene activation, growth factors in impaired wound healing, and effects of burn wound closure on scarring.
