General thoracic surgery
The general thoracic surgery team provides expansive services for the surgical treatment of non-cardiac benign and malignant diseases of the chest, including the lungs, esophagus, chest wall, airway, mediastinum (the central compartment of the chest) and diaphragm. Many of our therapies are performed using minimally invasive techniques.
Our general thoracic surgery team is also a part of the National Cancer Center Designated UC Davis Cancer Center, which employs a multidisciplinary approach, providing expert opinions from thoracic surgery, gastroenterology, radiation oncology, diagnostic radiology, pulmonology and medical oncology to best treat our patient’s cancer. Patients seen at the UC Davis Cancer Center will be eligible for trials that offer cutting edge and state of the art therapy.
