The endothelial barrier is a structure that tightly regulates fluid movement and leukocyte migration between the blood and tissue. The dysfunction of the barrier is considered an initial step responsible for the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis and inflammation. My research is to study the link between endothelial dysfunction and atherosclerosis/inflammation utilizing a combination of in vivo and in vitro experimental models.
