Surgery clinic nurses receive "Nursing Excellence" awards

The following nurses in the Surgery Clinic received  "Nursing Excellence" awards as part of the Friends of Nursing 2014 Celebration of Nursing Excellence:

Yolanda Williams, Sr. LVN -- Courage & Compassion in Nursing
Judy Yamasaki, RN -- Integrity of Nursing
Abby Scheitlin, NP -- Courage & Compassion in Nursing
Barbara Jachniewicz, NP -- Integrity of Nursing

UC Davis Medical Center and The Friends of Nursing Committee have scheduled the activities to honor and recognize all nurses who make a difference to patients, colleagues, the organization and community through their positive, evidence-based practices and outstanding customer service.

National Nurses Week is celebrated annually from May 6, also known as National Nurses Day, through May 12, the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing.

Congratulations to these nurses who were honored at the annual Celebration Nursing Excellence that was held on May 7, 2014.
