Academic Transplant Surgeon

The Department of Surgery, Division of Transplantation, at the University of California, Davis seeks to recruit a full-time Academic Transplant Surgeon at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor in either the Clinical X, Health Science Clinical Professor or In-Residence series; depend upon experience and qualifications.  The candidate will have a strong interest in kidney and pancreas transplantation. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to join a diverse and progressive practice in a growing academic institution. The clinical activities within the division include adult and pediatric transplantation with a strong focus on living donor transplantation and maximizing opportunities to utilize expanded criteria deceased donors. The individual would be incorporated into a practice that includes laparoscopic nephrectomy, dialysis access and a variety of general surgical procedures.  The candidate must have the ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a multidisciplinary environment.  The candidate must be board eligible or board certified in general surgery and possess a valid California Physician and Surgeon’s License before the appointment start date. The ideal candidate should be fully trained in an American Society of Transplant Surgery (ASTS) approved fellowship and will meet UNOS criteria for a kidney and pancreas transplant surgeon. The selected individual will be expected to participate in clinical care, teaching, research, and university service dependent on the chosen academic series.  Salary and level of appointment will be based upon experience and qualifications.
