Comprehensive Breast Surgeon

The Department of Surgery at the University of California, Davis; School of Medicine seeks to recruit an outstanding surgery leader to lead our Comprehensive Breast Care Program within the UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center. This will be a full-time academic position at the rank of assistant, associate or full professor in the In-Residence, Clinical X, or Health Sciences Clinical Professor series depending on experience and qualifications.

The selected candidate will be the chief of the Section of Breast Surgery and will work closely within the Division of Surgical Oncology and broadly within the UC Davis NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. The successful candidate will have substantial opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration and will be expected to leverage the strengths of UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center in translational research, including the development and implementation of clinical trials. The successful candidate will assume the role of leader of the Breast Program, spanning multiple departments within the UC Davis School of Medicine. Qualified candidates must have an excellent academic background with prior leadership experience in coordinating multidisciplinary teams of investigators.

Required qualifications also include the completion of an approved breast fellowship or surgical oncology fellowship. Candidates must possess an M.D. and are required to obtain a California medical license before the appointment start date; and will be expected to participate in clinical care, teaching, research and university service depending on academic series. All candidates must have the ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment. Salary and level of appointment will be based upon experience and qualifications.
