Strategic Planning Process
Development of the UC Davis Health System five-year strategic plan involves three phases as illustrated below.
Phase I evaluated the 2004 strategic plan and the health system's performance against the goals identified in that plan. This evaluation solicited feedback from various stakeholders and objectively assessed the health system's collective performance against the "indicators of achievement" clearly defined in that plan.
Phase II built upon the results of Phase I and marked the development of the new five-year strategic plan and the process for implementation. Due to the complex nature of that planning process, Phase II involved four parts occurring over a ten-month period.
Phase III is the implementation of the five-year plan with annual progress reviews.
