Dr. Brian Davis headed to London to volunteer for Olympics
Trip to highlight Sports Medicine Fellowship
Dr. Davis will be travelling to London in July 2012 to provide volunteer medical care for the athletes of the 2012 Olympics and Paralympics.
His first official assignment will have him stationed at the Excel Arena where Boxing, Fencing, Tae Kwon Do, Judo and Table Tennis, will be taking place.
In addition to supporting the athletes, Dr. Davis expects to bring home some very important tools used in the UK by their medical practice to supplement our current practices in Sacramento. This will not only help develop the Sports Medicine Fellowship, but also serve as a foundation for a new Sports Science Center.
As this is a very expensive volunteer effort, we are hoping to fund this mission through tax-deductible donations. These donations will be used to cover the cost of travel and expenses abroad. Any additional funds remaining after this event will be applied to the continued support of the Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Sports Medicine Fellowship. This Fellowship is going into its fifth year and is only one of 10 fully-accredited programs of its kind in the United States. Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation was one of the first to receive this distinction.
