Edward A. Panacek's research interests involve critical-care aspects of emergency medicine (in particular, life-threatening infections such as sepsis and septic shock) and respiratory emergencies such as acute severe asthma. He has over 100 original publications, over 50 textbook chapters or invited review articles, and over 100 research abstracts.
