Lorenzo Rossaro, M.D.

Clinical/Research InterestsLorenzo Rossaro is an internationally recognized authority on liver transplantation and liver disease (cirrhosis and hepatitis B and C). He received his medical training in his native Italy and the United States, where he was a Fulbright scholar. Rossaro has contributed book chapters on the indications, selection and timing for liver transplantation, as well as medical complications and disease recurrence for this procedure. He has also authored a management guide for fulminant hepatic failure, and his contributions to innovative treatments for hepatitis C based on multicenter international studies appeared in the New England Journal of Medicine. Rossaro's research focuses on complications of liver disease. He also is studying hepatic encephalopathy using psychometric testing and magnetic resonance spectroscopy. |
