Clinical/Research Interests

Dr. Howell provides clinical service in cytopathology, fine-needle aspiration biopsy and surgical pathology. Her clinical and research interests focus on early detection of breast and cervical disease, including cervical cancer screening; HPV testing and vaccines; breast screening; cancer risk assessment, diagnosis and prognostication; and the evaluation of new technologies in cytopathology. She also has a creative interest in faculty development and faculty affairs. Additionally, Dr. Howell provides cytopathology and surgical pathology training to residents and fellows, as well as leadership training to faculty.
