Philosophy of CareSports medicine is a rapidly evolving field that encompasses more than the care of an elite athlete. Industrial "athletes," recreational athletes, and individuals with medical conditions and disabilities are all part of a specialty sports medicine practice. I try to do the very best I can for my patients, with their good health in mind. I have respect for my patients, regardless of their background or status. I encourage them to take personal responsibility and initiative for healthy habits. My training in sports medicine is reflected in my community service as one of the team physicians for the Sacramento Monarchs, Sacramento Kings and for intercollegiate sports at UC Davis. I am pleased that my colleagues and I can provide care to such a diverse racial, cultural and socioeconomic mix of patients with equal concern for all. |
