Women have long been underrepresented in the field of medicine. In this issue of UC Davis Medicine, faculty and staff take a comprehensive approach to addressing gender medicine, and in particular, women's health.

Synthesis is UC Davis Cancer Center's biannual magazine. In the spring/summer 2009 issue: Since arriving a UC Davis 10 years ago, Richard Bold has performed surgeries on pancreatic cancer patients while simultaneously conducting research to discover better treatments for the disease. That work is now paying off.
