Medical physics plays an essential part in radiation oncology, providing the technical foundation for patient treatment planning, research and education. Patients receiving radiation therapy at UC Davis benefit from the best technical support possible through the applications developed and planned by our physicists. Our committed physics team works to heal patients and improve cancer treatment by creating safer, more efficient methods of delivering radiation, by teaching the science of medical physics in radiation oncology to physicians, residents and clinical staff in both clinical and structured, didactic settings, and by their ongoing clinical and academic research.
