What is the reason you are interested in radiation oncology? Recent developments in technology and molecular medicine are making radiation oncology more exciting and filled with promise than ever. Functional imaging fused with anatomical imaging will be able to define the gross tumor volume more precisely and to delineate actively diving intratumoral cell populations for image guided radiation therapy. Molecular imaging nowadays has a potential that can be employed in radiation oncology with creating new strategies for treatment planning and more importantly for evaluation of treatment efficacy. |
