Allen M. Chen, M.D.

Clinical/Research InterestsDr. Chen's clinical interests pertain to cancers of the head and neck. In collaboration with his colleagues at the UC Davis Cancer Center, they have opened several protocols exploring the concurrent use of drugs and radiation to optimize outcomes while preserving quality of life. With the development of new, more sophisticated methods of radiation delivery and planning such as image-guided radiotherapy (IGRT), intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT), 4-dimensional scanning, and tomotherapy, they are able to more accurately administer high doses of radiation to tumors while sparing critical normal tissues with the ultimate goal of improved cure rates. |
